Web addresses in emails aren't hyperlinks

I sometimes receive emails containing web addresses, such as www.pcadvisor.co.uk, and I thought that if I double-clicked on this address Outlook Express would transfer it to a new window enabling me to look at the site without having to manually enter the address in Internet Explorer. Some addresses are long and intricate and it isn't easy to enter them by hand. Am I wrong or is there a way to get Outlook to do this?

Outlook should normally do this by default. My guess is that for some reason Internet Explorer is not set to be the default web browser. To correct this, open Control Panel, double-click Internet Options, select the Programs tab and place a tick in the box at the bottom that says, 'Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser'. Click ok, then launch Internet Explorer. It will ask you if you want to make it the default browser. Click Yes and everything should be okay.
